Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

This policy explains what information Aperture Research ("we," "us") collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. Aperture Research is currently an invite-only beta — this policy will be reviewed and updated before any public, self-serve launch.

Information we collect

  • Account information: email address, display name, and authentication data (via Supabase Auth).
  • Content you connect or provide: RSS feed URLs, uploaded documents, pasted notes, and — if you connect them — email (Gmail/Outlook) and note-taking (Obsidian/OneNote) content via OAuth. OAuth access and refresh tokens are encrypted at rest.
  • Preferences: your interests, tracked tickers, digest schedule, and workspace/channel activity.
  • Usage data: which items you read, star, save, or give feedback on, used to improve ranking relevance.
  • Billing information, if you subscribe to a paid plan (processed by Stripe — we do not store card details ourselves).

How we use it

  • To ingest, rank, and summarize content against your stated interests using AI models (Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini).
  • To send you digest emails and alerts you've configured, via our email provider (Resend).
  • To operate collaboration features (workspaces, channels) if you use them.
  • To maintain and improve the service, including debugging and abuse prevention.

Content you connect is sent to third-party AI providers (Anthropic, Google) for scoring and summarization. We do not sell your data to advertisers or data brokers.

Data retention & your rights

You can export a copy of your data or permanently delete your account at any time from Settings. Deleting your account removes your profile and all associated content, scores, and preferences.

Third-party services

We rely on infrastructure and data providers including Supabase (database/auth), Vercel (hosting), Anthropic and Google (AI processing), Resend (email delivery), and Stripe (billing). Each has its own privacy practices governing data they process on our behalf.
